“Document the moments you feel most in love with yourself - what you’re wearing, who you’re around, what you’re doing. Recreate and repeat.”
― Warsan Shire
As if you need a good reason to buy yourself flowers.
Whenever I am walking through the super market, or taking a stroll downtown on Lakeshore, I always notice the beautiful floral arrangement set up at all the store fronts, waiting to be purchased. I remember the first time I purchased flowers for my own home, and when the Florist asked, "is this a gift, or is it for yourself?", I blushed and replied, "for myself". Though, looking back, I shouldn't have been so bashful, and just said, "both!"
I really do enjoy receiving flowers, mainly because they really brighten up the room and give life to my tiny apartment. However, I dont expect to be given flowers, and I sure do not want to wait until someone does.
At supermarkets, you can purchase a nice, colourful arrangement for $7.99 - $15.99, and sometimes, you gotta spend a little money on yourself. I'll admit, as a frugal lady it's a little tough buying myself a little pick me up, but as someone who doesn't purchase a lot of clothes, makeup, toys, or even pamper-material for myself, it's a nice reminder that I'm proud of my accomplishments, and I am doing okay.
If you want some pretty flowers, buy the flowers. Every time you see them, you'll be reminded that, sometimes it's nice to do something for yourself.
